Acquired from a private estate in the Cotswolds. Previously part of the Harrington-Wells collection, documented in the 1923 estate inventory.
A commanding wingback armchair in rich flame mahogany, featuring serpentine arms and cabriole legs with pad feet. The generous proportions and high scrolled back are characteristic of the finest Georgian seating. The frame retains its original patina with a warm, deep lustre that only centuries of careful ownership can produce. Recently reupholstered in a sympathetic linen-cotton blend.
